Waxing & Sugar

 First 24 hours

  • No hot showers, baths, or saunas
  • No working out or heavy sweating
  • No tight clothing over the waxed area
  • No sexual activity
  • No touching, scratching, or picking
  • No deodorant (if underarms), no perfumes or lotions on the area
  • No tanning beds or direct sun

Starting day 2+

  • Exfoliate gently 2–3 times a week starting 48 hours after to prevent ingrowns
  • Moisturize daily with a lightweight, fragrance-free lotion
  • Wear loose, breathable fabrics

Ongoing care

  • Exfoliate regularly to keep ingrowns away
  • Moisturize consistently
  • Book your next appointment with your recommended schedule (4-6 weeks)

Spray Tans

Before your first shower (wait 6–8 hours)

  • No sweating, no water, no working out
  • Wear loose, dark clothing (tight clothes can rub your tan off)
  • No lotions, perfumes, or deodorant on tanned skin

Your first rinse (not a scrub!)

  • Rinse with lukewarm water only — no soap or body wash yet
  • Let the water run over you, don't rub or scrub
  • Pat dry with a towel — no wiping

Starting day 2+

  • Use sulfate-free, gentle body wash (no bar soaps)
  • Moisturize daily — hydrated skin = longer-lasting tan
  • Pat dry after showers, don't rub or wipe harshly

Things to avoid

  • Long hot baths or showers (they fade your tan fast)
  • Chlorine pools and saltwater (they also make your tan fade)
  • Exfoliating scrubs, loofahs, or washcloths on tanned skin
  • Oil-based products (they'll break down your tan)

Lash Lifts

 First 24 hours

  • No water, steam, or sweat — keep your lashes very dry
  • No mascara or eye makeup
  • No rubbing or touching your lashes
  • No sleeping on your face

Going forward

  • Avoid oil-based makeup removers or cleansers near your eyes (oil kills the lift)
  • Brush your lashes daily with a clean spoolie to keep them fluffy
  • Waterproof mascara is fine, but be gentle removing it
  • Your lift should last 6–8 weeks with proper care

Things to avoid

  • Lash curlers (you don't need them anymore)
  • Steamy showers or saunas right after
  • Picking or pulling at your lashes

Brow Lamination

 Before Your Brow Lamination

Prep (1–2 weeks out)

  • Stop using retinol, retinoids, and any exfoliating acids around the brow area 7–14 days before
  • No brow tinting, waxing, threading, or tweezing for at least 2 weeks before (your esthetician will shape them as part of the service)
  • No brow lamination or perm within the last 6–8 weeks

Day of

  • Arrive with clean, dry brows — no makeup, no brow products, no skincare on or near the brows
  • Avoid caffeine the morning of (can make skin more sensitive during the service)
  • Let your brow artist know if you have any skin conditions near the brows (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, recent microblading, scars)

After Your Brow Lamination

First 24 hours (critical — brows are setting)

  • No water at all on your brows — no washing your face normally, no rain, no swimming
  • No steam, no sauna, no hot yoga, no heavy sweating
  • No touching, rubbing, or brushing your brows
  • Sleep on your back — do not press your face into the pillow
  • No brow products (pomade, pencil, gel, soap brows)

Next 2–3 days

  • You can gently rinse your face — but keep brows dry or use a damp cloth around them
  • Still no heavy sweating, steam, or soaking in water
  • No brow makeup yet
  • No creams, lotions, serums, or oils directly on the brows (can break down the lamination solution)
  • No rubbing or picking at the brows

Day 4–7

  • You can start getting brows wet normally — gentle cleansing is fine
  • You can apply a nourishing brow oil or a tiny amount of castor oil if your artist recommended it (some do, some don't — follow their advice)
  • You can brush brows into place with a spoolie
  • Avoid heavy creams or thick moisturizers directly on the brow hairs

Long-term maintenance

  • Brush brows upward daily with a clean spoolie to maintain the shape
  • Book your next lamination in 6–8 weeks (when the lift starts to drop)
  • Tint can be refreshed every 3–4 weeks if needed

Things to avoid

  • No rubbing or wiping your brows when washing your face — pat the area dry gently
  • No chemical peels, acids, or retinol directly on the brow area
  • No tanning beds or direct UV exposure on the brows (can lighten or damage the hairs)
  • No picking at the brows if you see any slight flaking on the skin underneath
  • No threading or tweezing the brow shape yourself — let your artist maintain it

What's normal

  • Brows will feel slightly stiff or set in place for the first few days — this softens as the solution settles
  • The skin under the brows may feel slightly tight or flake a little (very mild)
  • The full result settles after about 1 week — the initial lift will soften to a natural, fluffy hold
  • Your brows may appear slightly lighter or more ashy until the first wash — this is normal and temporary

Chemical Peels

 First 24 hours

  • No water on the treated area for the first few hours (follow your provider's timing)
  • No sweating or working out
  • No makeup for 24 hours (or longer depending on peel strength)
  • No touching, picking, or peeling skin

Day 2–7 (peeling phase)

  • Let the skin flake off naturally — picking leads to scarring
  • Gentle cleanser only, no scrubbing
  • Heavy moisturizer is your best friend
  • SPF 50 every single day — your new skin is extremely sensitive to sun
  • No active ingredients (retinol, acids, vitamin C) until skin is fully healed

Things to avoid

  • Sun exposure — absolutely no tanning
  • Hot showers, saunas, steam rooms
  • Exfoliating of any kind
  • Picking or peeling the skin (picking leads to scars)

Expect

  • Flaking and peeling 2–5 days in
  • Some redness or tightness
  • Smooth, glowing skin once it's done

Facials

 Before Your Facial

Prep (24–48 hours out)

  • Avoid any exfoliating acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic), retinol, retinoids, and vitamin C — give your skin a break
  • No waxing, threading, dermaplaning, or laser treatments on the area
  • No tanning (real, spray, or bed)
  • No Botox or filler within 2 weeks of the appointment

Day of

  • Arrive with a clean face — no makeup, no sunscreen, no skincare products
  • Let your esthetician know about any allergies, sensitivities, active breakouts, or medications (especially Accutane, antibiotics, or topical prescriptions)
  • Hydrate well — drink water beforehand

After Your Facial

First 24 hours

  • No washing your face — let the products fully absorb
  • No makeup
  • No touching your face
  • No hot water on your face — lukewarm rinses only if allowed
  • No sweating — skip the gym, hot yoga, sauna, steam room

Next 2–3 days

  • Keep your routine simple: gentle cleanser + moisturizer + SPF
  • No active ingredients — pause retinol, acids, vitamin C, and exfoliants for at least 48–72 hours
  • No scrubs, loofahs, or physical exfoliation
  • No picking at any flaking or purging — let it resolve naturally
  • Drink extra water to support skin recovery

Daily maintenance after healing

  • SPF 30+ every single day — your skin is more photosensitive after a facial
  • Moisturize morning and night
  • Follow the routine your esthetician recommended based on your skin type and concerns

Things to avoid

  • No tanning (UV or spray) for at least 1 week
  • No aggressive treatments (another facial, chemical peel, microneedling) for at least 2–4 weeks
  • No heavy or pore-clogging products for a few days
  • No picking, squeezing, or extracting anything yourself

What's normal

  • Slight redness or warmth for a few hours to a day
  • Mild flaking or purging (especially with extractions or active facials) — this means it's working
  • Glowier, smoother skin by day 2–3

Dermaplane & Microderm

 First 24 hours

  • No makeup, no skincare products beyond gentle cleanser
  • No touching your face
  • No sweating or working out
  • No hot water on your face
  • No sun exposure

Day 2–5

  • Introduce moisturizer and SPF (still no active ingredients for 48 hours)
  • Avoid retinol, acids, and exfoliants for 3–5 days
  • No exfoliating scrubs
  • No swimming, saunas, or steam rooms
  • SPF every day — your skin is more vulnerable to sun without the peach fuzz layer

Ongoing

  • Your products will absorb better now
  • Moisturize daily
  • Schedule your next dermaplane or mircoderm every 3–4 weeks

Expect

  • Your skin may feel slightly sensitive for a day
  • Makeup goes on silky smooth after
  • No stubble when it grows back (dermaplane doesn't make hair grow back darker or thicker)

Microneedling

 First 24–48 hours

  • No makeup, no skincare products (just a gentle cleanser)
  • No touching your face
  • No sweating, workouts, or hot yoga
  • No rinsing with hot water — lukewarm only
  • Pat dry, don't rub

Day 3–7

  • Keep it simple: gentle cleanser + moisturizer + SPF
  • No active ingredients (no retinol, vitamin C, acids, or exfoliants) for at least 5 days
  • No exfoliating or scrubbing
  • No swimming, saunas, or steam rooms
  • Stay out of the sun — SPF 50 is non-negotiable

Expect

  • Redness for 1–3 days (like a mild sunburn)
  • Some flaking or peeling by day 3–5 — that's normal and good
  • Results really show 2–4 weeks later
  • Book in a series of 3-6 treatments for best results!
